Information Collection and Use
Information Collection
RightPlaceRightTime.net, LLC is the sole owner of the information collected on RightPlaceRightTime.net and rprt.net. RightPlaceRightTime.net, LLC collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site.
Registration
In order to use our Web site, a user must first complete
the registration form. During registration, a user gives contact information
such as name and email address which are not shared with any third party.
We use this information to contact the user about services on our site for
which he/she has expressed interest. An anonymous screen name and password
also will
be provided by the user. All charges to users of RightPlaceRightTime.net
will be processed through the payment service PayPal, which will require
the
typical
information needed for credit card transactions be provided exclusively to
PayPal. This information is used for billing purposes. Shipping address is
required if the user opts to receive RightPlaceRightTime.net promotional
cards or
if
the user participates in any member registration Incentive Program and/or
the free Drawing so that earnings and/or awards can be sent by ground mail.
If we
have trouble processing registration of a user, the information is used to
contact the user. It is optional for the user to provide demographic information
such
as hair color, race, etc. and a photo to help with the matching process,
but encouraged so we can provide a more personalized experience on our site.
The registration process requires that users provide age, eye color, and
gender information. The age information is used to ensure that users are
of age 18
or older. The other items are displayed when the user chooses
to post an 'encounter' using our system. All encounters posted and any demographic information/photo that are provided will be accessible to any member who posts a matching encounter or who surfs encounters.
Information Use
RightPlaceRightTime.net attempts to connect people who
have had an initial positive chance encounter. The demographic information
provided is used by our software program in the matching process to allow
two people
who have had such an encounter to actually connect via the internet. When
a possible match occurs, each user will be provided with the other's anonymous
screen name to enable communication through the messaging system of the site,
after which it will be up to each party whether or not to share their personally
identifiable information such as name, email or phone number.
Profile
We store information that we collect through the registration process and
by subsequent profile modifications by the user. This profile is stored
information that we keep on individual users. We may choose to direct pertinent
marketing
promotions to users if they have given us consent to do so during the registration
process. We do not share your profile with third parties.
Cookies A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer
tied to information about the user. We use both session ID cookies and persistent
cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie
simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the
user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can
be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.
We create and utilize
a persistent cookie to remember whether or not a user has viewed our Flash Intro (we utilize the cookie to ensure you only see the intro once) and if the user chooses for their browser to remember their
log-on information. By choosing to remember your logon information, our site will read the user ID
and password and automatically log the user into the site when it is required
to
do so, thereby saving time while on our site. If users reject the cookie,
they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will
be limited
in some areas of our site. For example, the user will not be able to log
in automatically.
Note: we do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally
identifiable information you submit while on our site.
Some of our business partners may use
cookies on our site (for example, advertisers) either now or in the future.
However, we have no
access to or control
over these cookies once we have given permission for them to set cookies
for advertising.
These third parties will not have access to the values stored in the cookies
that we create (for the purpose of letting you log into our site
automatically).
Posting Encounters
If you post an encounter on our site, you should be aware that any personally
identifiable information you
submit
as part of the encounter description can be read, collected, or used by
other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages.
We are
not responsible
for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these
forums. RPRT does not disclose any personally identifiable
information you may have provided during sign-up or in your member profile;
only if you choose to disclose personally identifiable information (such as
your name, email, phone number, ...) as part of an encounter description
or if you choose to respond to an existing encounter (for a fee) will
this information become available to those who read your encounter or contact
message.
Third Party Advertising
The ads appearing on this Web site are delivered to users
by one or more advertising partners. Information about users' visit to this
site, such as number of times they have viewed an ad (but not user name, address,
or other personal information), is used to serve ads to users on this site.
This
privacy statement covers the use of cookies by RightPlaceRightTime.net
only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
Log Files
Like most standard Web site servers, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)
In the future, we may choose to employ (or our third party advertising company may employ) a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. The main difference between the two is that clear gifs are invisible on the page and are much smaller, about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. Clear gifs are not tied to users' personally identifiable information.
Clear Gifs can "work with" existing cookies on a computer if they are both from the same Web site or advertising company. That means, for example, that if a person visited "www.companyX.com", which uses an advertising company's clear gif, the Web site (or advertising company) would match the clear gif's identifier and the advertising company's cookie ID number, to show the past online behavior for that computer. This collected information would then be given to the advertising company (or Web site).
Communications from the Site
Special Offers and Updates
We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password, anonymous screen name and email address. Established members may occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see the Choice and Opt-out sections.
Service Announcements
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service-related announcement. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.
Customer Service
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account. We communicate and reply via email.
Legal Disclaimer
Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.
Third Party Advertisers
RightPlaceRightTime.net, LLC may in the future choose
to share Web site usage information about users with a reputable third party
for the purpose of targeting Internet banner advertisements on our site or
to provide users with promotional offers. The information they collect and
share through this technology is not personally identifiable.
These are the instances in which we will share users' personal information:
We DO NOT share personal information with third parties, except as disclosed
in this statement.
Third Party Intermediaries
We use a credit card processing company (PayPal) to bill users for services. Please see PayPal's Privacy Statement at PayPal.com for information regarding PayPal's use of the information you provide them.
Referring Members
When a RightPlaceRightTime.net member refers others to
our Web site by using our homepage referral link, the member's name and e-mail
address will be sent along with the referral message to those specified by
the member. We do not retain the information of either the referrer or the
referees.
Strategic Partners
We partner with Strategic Partners for co-promotional purposes. During registration, we request the user's zip code which may be used to promote special offers from us or our Strategic Partners. Such promotions will be delivered via email and will be generated only by and through RightPlaceRightTime.net. During registration or any time thereafter ("My Profile" page), users may choose to opt out of being notified of these offers.
Business Transitions
In the event RightPlaceRightTime.net, LLC goes through
a business transition, such as a merger, being acquired by another company,
or selling a portion of its assets, users' personal information will, in most
instances, be part of the assets transferred. For more information see our "Notification
of Changes" section below.
Choice/Opt-out
Our users are given the opportunity to 'opt-out' of having
their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the
point where we ask for information. For example, every mass email or offer form
includes 'opt-out' instructions so users who use our service, but don't want
to receive promotional offers, can keep their email address off of our lists.
Users
can view and alter their profile and their Opt-in settings at any time
by logging in and choosing the "My Profile" navigation tab on the site.
Users
of our site are always notified when their information is being collected
by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed
choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require
an
outside party. In some instances our site may be framed by another site.
Unless we notify you, the database will still be owned by RightPlaceRightTime.net.
Links
This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we, RightPlaceRightTime.net, LLC, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.
Contests and Incentive Program
Our site hosts contests and may offer an incentive program
for promotional purposes. Participation in these contests and the incentive
program is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether
or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically
includes contact information (such as name, shipping address, and email address).
Only
contact information of winners will be shared with the contest sponsors and
contest service providers to notify the winners and award prizes. Though
we may use an intermediary to conduct these contests, they and sponsors may
not use users' personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
By law, winners' names of any free Drawing will be publicly available by
postal
mail request within two months of the deadline for entry. A user's social
security number is only required for tax reporting purposes to the Internal
Revenue Service
if the user participates in the incentive program and earns $600.00 or more
in any given year or wins a prize or trip valued at $600.00 or more. Any
financial compensation earned by users through participation in the incentive
program
will be sent as a business check via postal mail. The RightPlaceRightTime.net,
LLC name and return address will be visible in the return address portion of
the envelope containing the compensation.
Tell-A-Friend
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. RightPlaceRightTime.net, LLC will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. RightPlaceRighttime.net, LLC does not store this information except for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program.
Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter
